The best way to get started with a tree removal project is to get in touch with Ashburn Tree, and request a quote by filling out our Quote Request form. This information will be received by an arborist who will then make a site visit.  In conjunction with the site visit, it’s best to communicate details about the project as well as voicing questions or concerns that you may have. If these cannot be  included on the quote request form, plan to speak with the arborist either in person at the site visit or by telephone. HOA restrictions may apply.  Almost every HOA in Ashburn has some restrictions on removing trees. Your Ashburn Tree arborist can help with that as well. We can guide you in the right direction as to whether you may need approval, and how to begin that process. We can also advise you as to what to expect during the process, and how best to navigate to get the desired outcome. Tree removal is the term most commonly used to summarize a set of tree management actions, resulting in a tree that will no longer be standing. However, not all components of this operation involve removal. Dismantlement: In a tree removal operation (and sometimes tree pruning) tree parts need to be reduced to many smaller sized pieces, to be safely manipulated. As trees can be quite tall, this often requires cutting pieces while they are high above the ground. This process is referred to as dismantlement. Felling: Simply stated, felling is cutting a tree down. When a tree is cut near the ground, allowing the portion of the tree that is above the cut to fall to the ground, the tree is said to be felled. Sometimes felling is done in conjunction with tree dismantlement. Upper portions of the tree are dismantled, then the remaining portion is felled. Rigging: In arboricultural operations, rigging is the use of specialized tools, equipment and techniques – often performed aloft – as part of the dismantlement and felling processes.
